Hmm--Why would someone who knows they will no longer be employed by their former employer be spending a late Sunday night doing month-end processing? Especially when they have another job lined up (whoo-hoo!)? It's that darned Peterson family mission statement coming back to haunt me. Remember the "Our family loves work" line? Well, it's stuck.

Yes, I have another/same job. During the whole chaos of Chinese buyers, hostile takeovers, etc. (you can't believe the types of phone calls I've overheard!), I've managed to shut down an office, compile corporate files from about 5 different locations and digitize them, do another person's job, and not kill myself. However, it's going to pay (and I do mean pay) off. To give a rundown (kind of like the beginning of a show where they show last week's episodes): The company I work for has 3 subsidiaries. 1 has been making a profit--our investors want to sell that one to a Chinese supplier. The supplier has indicated they might be interested in buying the company, but only with a very lean structure--which basically is just my boss, the former CFO. Then the former CEO of our company wanted to buy the other 2 divisions. Back and forth, back and forth. Tom (CEO) offered me the CFO position with his company, working from home, full time, better benefits and bonus, etc. Dan (former boss--I guess he's still current) wants my help, but just part time. So why not both? I'm glad to bill him for the time. Lots and lots of time, when he realizes how little time he has.

Enough about me. The kids have been absolutely hilarious. We have a family friend who's youngest son is the light of Reagan's life (oh, to be a 12-year old girl again). This boy hasn't decided that he's dead-set against her, so it must be "twoo love"--at least she thinks so. We have the HSM (High School Musical to the uninitiated) dance game for the Wii (I've managed to beat the kids once or twice--very unusual for me). You can create your own characters, and Reagan created a "Reagan" and a "Hayden" character. This morning, she came into the room at 5:30 am, frantically woke me up and said, "Mom--you have to get me on the Wii. The Millers are coming over, and they might play the game and I don't want them to see my Hayden." Yes, twoo love.

Tre' is now confident in his "cool" self. He's deliberately mussing up his hair, but it's stubborn, and lays back down again. He's also now a sports nut. It's good he has Grandma Judi around, because his sports enthusiasm would be wasted on just DJ and myself.

Madi= horses. Still, and forever. We've got a trainer coming out monthly to teach Madi different techniques. We also found a pair of pink cowboy boots (thanks, WalMart) that fit her. She's in heaven.

Josh is a flirt. All the little old ladies in church miss him when he's not there to wink, smile, and hug them. He's also my little math whiz--last week he told DJ that he wanted to count from 100 back to 0, backwards. Did it too. Hmm--either a flirty engineer or a flirty accountant. Talk about an oxymoron!
